Shopaholic

Shopaholic becky bloom lilac fashion confessions of a shopaholic

My interest for fashion came much after my interest for shopping. Since I was a little girl I always loved go in shopping trips with my mum around the city.

I could never decide what is my favorite type of shopping but at the moment “stud-shopping” is my motto. I can’t see anything that has a minimun sine of studs and it becomes a must-buy.

It wouldn’t be a problem if I was able to manage the amount of shopping I do, or even better, do neutral shopping – sell old stuff so I can use the money to buy new ones.

But when a girl looks to her wardrobe and not ever a pair of socks would still fit in there, so she looks at her storage room hoping for some empty space, and there are 3 suitcases of clothes (not including the other 3 that I recently gave away to charity, we all know she have shopping issues.

“Hello, my name is Daphne and I am shopping addicted. I tried to gave up shopping for a month, it seems like I am not even able to commit on this for 3 days.”

For some people it seems like this is such an easy issue to solve, but seriously, I have an addiction. And working with fashion demands me to be fashionable most of the time – I love/hate this about my job. So everything I buy ends up being over used in less than a month between work and personal life. In the end of the story I have a wardrobe full of things I don’t even like/use anymore.

Many people tell me the solution is selling things, well well well… Flea Market is once a month (and it is getting harder and harder to get in), and now and than Ebay has free insertion, but still I can’t read of all my unwanted stuff . And I keep on buying more and more.

Any tips on how stop shopping or getting rid of unwanted garments? Perhaps some fellow fashionistas would like to do a swop-shop day!
