Dove Crème Mousse Body Wash

November 1st, 2012 by Daphne Lopes

Dove Body Wash Creme Mousse Mosturizer Using NutriumMoisture technology restore skin softness smoothness review

Just back from France this morning and I was greeted with a beautiful and shiny parcel – Thank you Think House – and let’s be honest, nothing is better than getting some goodies in the morning.

I opened the package faster than what I am used to do on Christmas morning to find Dove’s latest creation: Crème Mousse (Just to make me miss France a little more this morning).

I did first what we all do when choosing a body wash, smell! The fragrance is pretty similar to the conventional Dove soap. I brought my new friend to my morning shower to verify if the ‘rich and creamy nourishment’ description was valid, and believe me or not, that’s the most nourishing body wash I’ve ever tried. It uses the NutriumMoisture technology to help restore skin’s softness and smoothness, and it definitely does it’s job!

My driest area is the face and that’s where I  felt the bigger difference! The rest of my skin is normally soft and moisturized but it felt even nicer after showering with Crème Mousse.

The good news is that the price is greater than the benefits! With only 4.06 euros per bottle you can get yourself a great bath treat!

Ultimate Autumn 12 Footwear Guide

October 4th, 2012 by Daphne Lopes

Fall-footwear-guide-autumn-winter-2012-aw12-shoes-pointy-boots-ankle-boots

Throughout the history of footwear, shoes and boots with long, pointed toes have been favored at various periods and cultures or sub-cultures. On A/W12 and S/S13 Catwalks we saw the return of pointy shoes.

Pumps, boots and sandals receive the elongated treatment and they definitely look more sophisticated and sharp. Welted out soles and platforms add more dimension and structure to the silhouette of the shoes.

Leather and Nappa are the fabrics you are looking for this Autumn. Black is always easier to match and mantain, but maroon, caramel, and dark green are colours not to ignore. White boots have always been a big discussion between fashionistas, but this winter white was embraced with style as a important detail on footwear.

The typical  ‘bone-lenght’ changed to a taller version that should reach at least 1 inch from the ankle-bone. Socks are welcome to the new version of ankle boots. Details such as buckles and metallic frames in the tips of the pointed toes provide a expensive-looking finish and a little touch of the fetish culture.

No doubt on why Fall is my favorite season to buy footwear!

Anna Dello Russo Fashion Shower

September 11th, 2012 by Daphne Lopes

Italian-born, Anna Dello Russo, dismiss my presentations, and not only because she runs one of the biggest publications in the world, Vogue Japan, but because her fashion style is unique, unexpected and impossible to ignore.

ADR paired up with H&M to create a edgy accessories collection for women that are not afraid of experimenting and having fun with fashion. In a conversation about her collection she stated  “Accessories personalize your style and it is really easy if you don’t want to reinvent your whole world you can just put on an accessory to change it up.”

Wearing a latex dress and many items of her H&M collaboration, the ‘Fashion-Gaga’ teaches us the key lessons to master our fashion styles. If you are not repeating the Anna Dello Russo’s mantra ‘Fashion Shower’, having a real shower, you obviously didn’t watch the video enough times.

Now if you excuse me, I am going to start the queue for the baroque sunglasses and the vintage shell-luggage.

If it wasn’t for the Label…

September 3rd, 2012 by Daphne Lopes

against-fashion-anti-fashion-is-fashionable-irish-fashion-dublin-blogger

Every season we see the most-wanted ubber expensive items and we are blinded by their labels.

The lastest example is the Wedge-Trainer by Isabel Marant, every single fashionista had it or had a inspired version of it. Fine, I have one too. Throw the first stone who have never wanted a ‘must-have’ item.

Would we really fancy all this things if it wasn’t by the label or the fashion media? (probably not)

I know it is difficult to run from it but shall we start to decide what’s going to make our eyes roll or our hearts beat not only by what the mass fashion media says? (This answer should always be a ‘Definitely’)

But than that is another fact: What is the opposite of what is fashion is also fashion.

We live in a era where is ‘cool’ to be ‘against-fashion’, let’s face it, being ‘anti-fashion’  was always one of the strongest fashion statements.

Yes, that’s the reality, if you have the wedge trainer you are cool but if you don’t have it (only if you really don’t want it) it’s ok because that’s cool as well.

Now, think about all money you could have saved on ‘ expensive never-worn but highly fashionable items’.

Skull Necklace

Nothing accessorize easier than a long necklace, it goes over basically anything in earth.

This Skull necklace is from New Look and originally had feathers and  other “pretty-pretty” incorporated to it but I bought it anyway because I really like this “old-golden” mexican skull.

Sometimes we have to read between the lines to find what we want on the high-street.

And always remember this golden rule you can always take the bad embellishment away.

Primark Vs. Urban Outfitters

July 20th, 2012 by Daphne Lopes

We all know how things work in fashion. Everything good that comes from the catwalks go straight away to the high-street and everything good that is on high-street go directly to Primark.

Recently I got from a friend the “Peace” belt from urban outfitters and few days after the ” LOVE ” belt was available for purchase in Penneys.

Honestly, I can’t see any quality difference between them two, and the copycat’s were only €3.

Cross Shaped Cut Out Top

I could easily explain love at the first sigh by saying my one and favorite word: cross.

The top is only new in New Look and it only requests a low investment of €14.99.

I might only be going trough my teen-goth-fase on my early 20′s but it came just as striking as love as the first sight. I can’t get enough of it!

Mister Perfect

mister perfect givenchy eraser make-up pen miracle product review

I am not a big believer when it comes to beauty products reviews but Mister Perfect Instant Make-up Eraser by Givenchy is perhaps one of the most mazing things I’ve ever tried.

Mister Perfect is a “make-up remover pen”  and it is the ultimate answer to small make-up mistakes such as flicks, eyebrows and lipstick.

Cotton buds are still good and cheap, you don’t need to let them go. But when precision is needed the thin end on Givenchy’s miracle-pen is the answer for your prays.

Worthed £20.

Doc Martens – Penneys

July 5th, 2012 by Daphne Lopes

Well well well.. We all had our Penneys moments but, is it only me or Penneys is getting better, not only in style but also in quality?

I found this Penneys’ version of the floral Doc Martens that I’ve always wanted – but would never pay for cause I only have 2 or 3 outfits for it- and it was only 20 euros, so I definitely could not resist!

I love the idea of having stylish/affordable shoes, it is the best way to get to have stuff you want but you wont get to wear enough to pay 150 euros!

Every other kid on the block will also have them, ok…this is not cool, but, you are cooler than them, I bet you can find a better way to wear your floral “not-docs”! I am definitely gonna wear mine with my white dress and military jacket!

I’ve been going on and on about buying cheap versions and not being happy with them, but honestly, this shoes are too cool for school even though they are from Penneys.

P.s.:I am so anxious to see Penneys version of the Leopard Leather Jacket! Hopefully will be just as good as my new baby-floral-not-docs.
